Gavin's Birthday Party

On Sunday, we celebrated the last party for Gavin's 5th birthday.  It was at the community room at mom's apartment building and lots of family and friends were there.  Gavin got lots of fun presents and has an entire Angry Birds themed bedroom now!  LOL!

Hoppy Summer

Friday night Heather had a girls night out at her house and we painted frogs!

Kristi and I have been trying to get Heather to go with us to Snickerdoodle's and paint every since we started going there.  And each time we asked she said she wasn't crafty.

Well now Miss I'm Not Crafty has an entire basement area devoted to wood crafts with tables, chairs, paints, brushes, paint holders, ribbon and any craft supply you could possibly think off!  LOL!!

So here is my finished product....

This cute little froggy was my inspiration....

Happy 11th Birthday Zoe!

On Saturday, I helped my littlest BFF celebrate her 11th birthday!  She started the celebrating at 7:30 in the morning with a text to me that said "are you ready to go?"  I replied "no, I'm sleeping!"  HAHA!  I guess it was time for me to get up and get ready.

Heather, Zoe, and her little friend Kelsea picked me up around 9:30 and we headed to the movies.  One stop before the movies resulted in Heather buying out the Walgreen's so the girls would have snacks in the movies.  This is how Heather rolls up into the theatre...

...and this is how I roll at the movies!  No movie for me is complete without nachos and a coke....even at 10:30 in the morning!

We saw the movie Nut Job.  It was definitely a cute movie.

We stopped for gas and the girls decide they want to sit in the back...and got in trouble for climbing over the seats.  I warned them!  LOL!

Our lunch stop was at Sandy's Pizza in Fort Branch for those yummy sweet red peppers on our pizza.  Sandy's has a weekend lunch buffet that we wanted to check out.  It was good, but it's best to wait for them to put up the pizzas you want instead of taking whats up there.  The buffet had strombolis, pizza, spaghetti, fettuccine alfredo, garlic bread, breadsticks, salad bar, dessert pizza, ice cream and your drink.

The girls were too cool to sit with Heather and I....

....maybe they were embarrassed by all of our plates?  LOL!!

I asked to take a picture of the two of them and here is what I got....

Hee!!  Shawn, Bowen, Brent and Brenton were getting Papa John's pizzas for supper that night for the fight, so I thought I would roll up in the house with my own pizza....from Sandy's :)  Yeah, they were jealous!

The next stop on the birthday train was at Bob Walther's for laser tag!  One game was enough for me!  LOL!

I'm glad I was one of the chosen few to hang with Zoe on her birhtday!  I've only missed one of her birthday parties in 11 years and it was all Shawn's fault....darn his gallbladder!

Miss You Daddy

February 18, 1997.  It's crazy to think that 17 years ago on that date my daddy passed away to be with Jesus in Heaven.  At the time I didn't realize how much hurt was in my heart, but I sure do now.  What I wouldn't give to have more time with him.

Harlem Wizards vs. South Spencer Rebels

Thursday night when I got off work, I drove to Rockport to pick up Beth and Gavin and we headed to South Spencer High School and watched the Harlem Wizards take on the South Spencer Rebels teachers and faculty!  It was a fundraiser event for the marching band.

I had read about the fundraiser on FB and thought I would like to take Gavin. Then my friend Kristi told me that she was playing the ballgame and I knew I was definitely going!  We wanted to cheer her on....and embarrass her too!   And with the help of my friend Brandi, we were able to convince Heather and Zoe to come along, so we had a big ol' cheering section for Kristi!

The Harlem Wizards are a lot like the Harlem Globetrotters, but they have more interaction with the kids and the shows are more geared towards the kids.  They also focus more on fundraising and perform at school gyms and smaller venues.

What a FUN time of FAMILY, FRIENDLY entertainment!

I hadn't been in the high school gym probably since my graduation back in 1994!!

Go Kristi!  Whoo!!

We all sat on the first couple of rows near where the players came out and the girls were all giggly over the Wizards!

There was a couple times they picked kids out of the audience to assist them.  Beth asked Gavin if he wanted to go out and he said he did so here he is raising his little hands and waving them in the air for them to pick him.  I really was hoping they would pick him cause he NEVER wants to participate in these activities.  But I also knew if they did pick him, he probably wouldn't want to go out and help!

What a couple of cuties with their new basketballs!!  Kassidy is my friend Brandi's daughter and her and Gavin are just a couple month's apart in the their age.  They recently became "best friends" at Brandi's dad's birthday party a last weekend.  LOL!  They both go to the same school, but one is in the morning class and the other is in the afternoon class.

Gavin didn't want his picture taken with any of them while we were getting autographs, so me and Tootie did!

If the Wizards are ever back at South Spencer or at a school near us, we'll definitely go again!
