Annual Glenn-Bell's trip to the vet!

Last month was the annual Glenn-Bell's critters trip to the vet.  For the most part, we've always taken all of the animals at one time for their annual shots.  It's a chore, but one combined trip to the vet is better than 3 individual trips.  For Molly, we have to hide the cage in the house and then I have to sneak attack her into it.  When we had Clifford, it was like wrestling a wild boar to get him in the cage; Molly is no better.  The dogs on the other hand, they are so excited to go for a car ride, they are doing ballerina twirls all over the house while I'm trying to put them in their harnesses, which is a workout for me to try and wrestle them into those harnesses.

Everyone got their annual shots, and then Hershey and Reese got their nails trimmed, and then Mommy and Daddy had their pocketbooks drained.  I swear I think we go to the most expensive vet in the tri-state, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  Dr. Chappin and his girls just love our animals, and we love Dr. Chappin and his girls!

Before the vet came into the room, Molly was all laid out pretty on the table...

And after they were done with her, she's no-paws kitty under a chair in the corner!

Hershey is hid under my chair for fear of what they might do to him!

And Reese was Mommy's brave little girl getting her shots and her temp taking.

All done!  Let's get back in the car and get outta this place mom!

Doggie Dental Cleaning!

Every time we are at the vet's office, he is always recommending a dental cleaning for the dogs.  The first time he suggested it, I got prices, but we didn't do it cause it was expensive, and because we didn't know of anyone else that had ever gotten their dogs teeth cleaned.  I know we never did with any of our dogs growing up.

So at the last visit when it was suggested, I asked more about it and got estimates for it again.  Reese also had a little mass on her ear I had inquired about and the vet tech told me that if we got her teeth cleaned, they could also remove that while she was put under.  The dogs also have rank poop breath and I knew that a cleaning would help with that.  We talked to the vet and tech more about the cleaning and how the tarter in their teeth and gums, if left untreated, could cause serious problems internally and so forth, and all the costs.  We decided to go ahead and get the cleanings done, and have the mass on Reese's ear removed.  Plus February was doggie dental month and you got free fluoride with your dental cleaning (hey at the cost of this cleaning, any savings would be a blessing!)

Just a note, don't ever google dog teeth.  It will seriously gag you!  However in doing that I saw a before and after photo of a dogs teeth after having them done.  Well you know me and pictures, I'm doing this too.  Taking pictures of the dogs teeth was no easy task, and then especially after they had the dental work done.  Hershey didn't want any part of me touching his mouth!

Anyways, here is a few before pictures of Reese's nasty teeth and the little mass on her ear.  In taking these pictures, I didn't realize how yucko these dogs' teeth were!

The little mass on her ear.

I only got one before of Hershey, he wasn't a fan.

So I made the dental cleaning appointment and then dropped the dogs off at the vet on my way to work.  They think they were going for a little innocent car ride, but mommy had other plans for them.  I'm sure they were mad at me when I dropped them off, but I knew it would be ok cause I was going to be the one picking them up and rescuing them from that mean ol' vet guy!

The vet techs called me later that afternoon and said that the dogs were finished and that everything went great.  They were able to cut the little mass out of Reese's ear and then cauterized the area.  She said that Hershey had to have one tooth extracted and that Reese had to have one surgically extracted and that because of that they were both on pain medicine, and then Reese had an antibiotic to take.  All unexpected so dollar signs were going off in my head while she was telling me that.  Our $350 dental cleaning bill just went up to about $540.

I thought for sure they would be sleepy and sluggish when I picked them up, but they were the wild hooligans that they were when I dropped them off!  Enjoying the wind flapping in their ears!

It wasn't until later that they calmed down a bit and were sleepy.

Here is a picture of Reese's teeth after the cleaning.  WOW!  I couldn't believe how clean and white they were.  And their breath smells so good!  I wish I would of done this long ago, and we will definitely be doing it again!

Reese's ear where she had the mass removed.  The little black crusty has already came off and you can't even tell she has a cut out of her ear if you didn't know it.

Below is a before and after of Reese's teeth.  What a difference!  I highly recommend dental cleanings for your dogs!

Hershey's Recheck at the Doggie Dermatologist

Stupid allergies!  My poor Hershey Bell is itching himself like crazy, and licking himself raw at times.  When I called the doggie dermatologist to talk to them about this, I didn't realize it was time for a recheck so I was calling at the perfect time.  I think I called on a Monday and they had only one opening on Thursday when they would be there.  It was at 10:00 a.m. which was the same time as Shawn's working meeting.  So Shawn met me at the vet's office at 9:30 to make the dog swap and I tended to the Hershey Bell while he went to work.  After the appointment, I drove Hershey home and then drove back into town to go back to work.  Shew, what a busy lunch hour for me!  Anything for my Hershey Bell!

The only thing Hershey Bell was excited about was the car ride there and back.  The rest of the stuff he could of done without, especially the shot that they had me give him for a bacterial infection.  $175 later we left with a new allergy injection schedule of 0.5cc starting that day and then every 5 days for 5 injections, and then 0.7cc every 7 days for 7 injections.  That takes us up into May when it will be time for more medicine and a new schedule.

See my clean teefers from my dental cleaning?  :)

Our Hershey Bell and His Allergies :(

Our poor Hershey Bell!  He's been about to itch and lick himself crazy!

For the last couple years, we've dealt with his itching and licking and when it gets bad, we'd take him to the vet, get him some medicine, and he'd get better. It wasn't until this last year (2015), that the itching, licking, and biting had gotten progressively worse.  I felt like every couple of weeks we were at the vets office.  And because of that, he got lots of car rides!

Our journey towards allergy injections started back in March 2015.  Hershey had been itching, and had some mosquito looking bites on his upper chest area that wouldn't go away and when you scratched him on his chest, he would start shaking that back leg like crazy.  I took him to the vet and they put him on Hydroxyzine 25mg, one tablet every 12 hours to help control itching.  This helped for a little bit, but by May, he was back to itching and licking again.

I had asked on Facebook if any one's dogs had allergies and how they treated them, and a couple people told me about a new allergy pill called Apoquel, and people swore by how wonderful it was.  Since it was so new and so popular, some vets weren't able to carry it.  However the day I called my vet to inquire about it, they had just gotten a new shipment in and were able to get me a prescription for Hershey.  Because he's such a little dog, and his skin wasn't that bad, they put him on a maintenance dose which was one pill a day.  And since the medicine was so popular and they only had a limited supply, I had to make sure and call before I ran out to get a refill, otherwise, I would be moved to the waiting list.  Since the medicine was working so well, I made sure to stay on top of ordering it.

Hershey was started on Apoquel on May 16, 2015 and was to take 1 tablet by mouth daily.  This medicine really seemed to be helping, and I got refills on it in June, July, August, September, October, and November.  He was on it for a couple months and seemed to be doing great with it.

In October we went out of town on vacation and Mom and Sassy came and stayed at our house to watch the dogs and Molly.  I instructed mom to make sure and give him one Apoquel pill once a day.  When we got home from vacation, he was back to itching really bad again.  We took him to the vet and they gave us a prescription for Temaril P to take once a day for 5 days, and then one pill a day every other day for 5 doses, along with the Apoquel, and then to give Benadryl every 12 hours as needed.  After all he seemed to be doing somewhat better again.

Then in November at Thanksgiving time, we went out of town again this time to Shawn's parent's, and mom and Sassy stayed at the house to watch the dogs and Molly.  Hershey was still on the allergy medicine so I instructed mom to keep giving him the one pill a day.  When we got back, he was back to itching again.  I thought, well maybe mom isn't giving him his pills.  I called the vet and they gave us another prescription of the Temaril P.  I gave him this, along with the Apoquel, and then Benadryl when needed.

Because this happened a couple times when mom and Sassy was here, I wondered if Hershey wasn't allergic to mom or Sassy.  I knew Sassy didn't have any fleas, and I've never seen fleas on either of my dogs or in the house.  I even called the vet to see if Hershey could be allergic to mom or Sassy.  They suggested maybe that it was something mom and Sassy were either bathing in, or possibly the detergent that mom was using.

By the end of December, Hershey was on two different allergy medicines now and they just weren't working.  I called our vet to tell them this and they suggested maybe seeing a doggie dermatologist since the allergy medicines weren't working.  They gave me the name of the one that's near us,  Animal Dermatology Clinic, however it was in Louisville, which was two hours away.  I knew it wouldn't be a big deal to go there, since we go to Louisville a couple times a year for various other reasons.  I got on their website and did some reading about who they are and such and found out that every other Thursday they come to Evansville and work out of the All Pet Emergency Clinic here in Evansville.  I called them to find out when they would be in the area next, what all the costs would be, and to find out how the visit would work.  I got all the information I needed, called Shawn to discuss it with him, then called them back to make an appointment.  They were actually going to be in Evansville the very next day.  Blessing!  I made Hershey Bell an appointment for 3:30, and I met Shawn there.  This is what HB looked like when Shawn and him rolled up in the car.  LOL!

All Hershey Bell was concerned with was sniffing for other animals and looking for treats on the floor.

We explained Hershey's problems with Dr. Reeder, and then he explained the way allergy testing worked, the two types of testing they could do, the benefits of the testing versus continuing to be on pills, and the costs of everything.  I'm sure we were overwhelmed with everything and trying to process it all.  I think Shawn was concerned with all of the costs, and I was only concerned with getting my dog some fast relief, I didn't care how much stuff cost.  When Shawn heard the prices of the two types of allergy testing they do, he asked what our other options were.  I must of flashed the stink eye to Shawn around that time cause he asked me what I thought.  I told him I wanted my dog to get better and started tearing up.  That must of done it for him, cause he looks at the vet and says "whatever she wants to do, we'll do".  HAHA!

Because of all the medicine Hershey had been on, they recommended the blood testing versus the skin prick testing.  The blood testing was a bit more expensive, but would be the most accurate, and definitely the less painful way to go, so we choose that.  They took Hershey back to draw blood, and then brought him back.  They explained all the things they would test for and how it would work, and then they returned with our bill and charges, and then instructions on how to give the shots, a sample schedule of when to give the shots, and other literature about environmental allergies.  They had to adjust the bill a couple times for us, since we have a Sharps disposal container at home (from my fertility injections) and weren't paying for another one, and then we weren't paying for shipping the medicine since they were going to bring it with them when they were in Evansville next.

The testing would take about two weeks to get the results back.  Once they had the results, they would make up his allergy medicine, and then call us when they had the medicine ready for us to pick up.

In the meantime, Hershey Bell got worse before he got better.  These sores were from licking and itching himself like crazy.  I felt like I was pumping him full of Benedryl all the time.

I was going to buy him a t-shirt, but Walmart didn't have any.  I thought if he was wearing a shirt, it would keep him from licking and help with the scratching, and then when he was outside, the shirt would be a barrier between his skin and the grass.  So then I got the bright idea to make him a t-shirt from one of Gavin's old t-shirts, but it was too big for him, and he wasn't having it.

I ended up getting 4 different shirts from Petsmart, but he wasn't having any of them.  He's so helpless and pitiful when he's got clothes on.  He just stands there and looks at you and doesn't move.  But the second you take the shirt off, he's a wild hooligan dog again!

Hershey and I spend lots of snuggle time on the couch with me rubbing his belly, chest and underarms to keep him from licking and scratching it himself thus making it worse.  He's such a spoiled dog!

So we finally got the results of his allergy testing back and have picked up his medicine and needles, along with the schedule of when to give the allergy shots.  The ladies at the dermatologist office said Hershey Bell is a very highly allergic dog!  Yikes!

We got two vials of allergens to give him.  The first vial is a diluted version of the allergens he's allergic to, and the second vial is full strength of the allergens.  The first time I gave Hershey his shot, I just picked him up and put in in Shawn's chair and had him cornered in the chair and gave him the shot.  The second night, that didn't work so good since he knew what was happening and he darted through my legs out of the chair.  We've now started tag-teaming to give the shots and it's definitely a two person job.  One to try and corral the wild dog, and one to be the bad guy and give the shots.  Thankfully each time, Hershey's been the one to get the injection and not Shawn or I.  That dog definitely doesn't want to hold still for the shot.  I've tried treats and everything.  And it was way worse when I took the medicine directly out of the fridge and gave him the shot with cold medicine. The ladies at the office gave me a call the other day to see how he was doing and offered to me the suggestion of letting the medicine sit out and warm up some.  This has definitely helped.

I was going to type of the schedule we have to use, but figured a picture would be easier.  HA!

I've listed the results of his testing below.

He was tested for different allergens that are common to our area.  The results are based on a scale of 0 to 6:

6 - Ultra high level
5 - Ultra high level
4 - Very high level
3 - High level
2 - Low level
1 - Very low level
0 - Absent or undetectable

Of the 40 different things they tested for, Hershey was allergic to the following and some were in the very high level range (I'll also include the things he wasn't allergic to as well):

In the Weeds category:

Short ragweed - 4
Russian Thistle - 4
Giant ragweed - 3
Dandelion - 1
Lamb's quarter - 2
Rough pigweed - 2

He didn't react to the mugwort, plantain, cocklebur, sorrel, goldenrod, or yellow dock.

In the Trees category:

Maple - 3
Pine - 2
Mulberry - 2

He didn't react to oak, walnut, red cedar, birch, elm, or sycamore.

In the Grasses category:

Bermuda - 4
Rye - 3
June - 2
Timothy - 3

He didn't react to orchard.

In the House Dust Mites category:

D. farinae - 2

He didn't react to D. pteronyssinus.

In the Molds category:

Penicillium - 3

He didn't react to aspergillus, alternaria, cladosporium, or mucor.

In the Insects category:

Flea - 2

He didn't react to cockroach, black ant, or housefly.

He was also tested in the Epidermals category, but didn't react to anything in that category which was cat dander, human dander, or sheep wool.

So this has been our journey thus far with allergy shots for Hershey.  Hopefully after we finish the vial of medicine we have, he'll be alot better and won't have to get the injections so much and will feel so much better.  I had seeing him in discomfort, and I hate being the bad guy giving the shots.

Another Trip to the Vet

Hershey Bell has been itching himself crazy already this year every since the weather warmed up and the grass started growing.  I took him to the vet and got him started on a new medicine called Apoquel.  It's been a miracle medicine for the Hershey Bell.  Within the first dose, I could tell her wasn't scratching and his skin and coat was so much better.

Isn't my Hershey Bell looking all handsome in his new harness?

After the vet, it was a trip to DQ for some breakfast for mommy, and a doggie bone for the Hershey Bell!

RIP Clifford...You were a great kitty for almost 13 years :(

On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, Shawn and I had to make one of the most difficult decisions of our lives....whether to spend thousands of dollars on a surgery that our sick cat probably wouldn't make it out of or to put him to sleep.  We choose the latter.  I wonder if the guilt will ever go away?

I never would of dreamed that when we first took Clifford into the vet because he wasn't feeling good, that a month and a half later we would have to make the decision to put our cat down because of a tumor.

I think the last month and a half has taken a toll on all of us.  I first noticed Clifford not feeling well in early September.  I had cleaned up some throw up a time or two and noticed that Clifford wasn't really eating or drinking much, and was just laying in one spot for a couple days.  Then he got better and was back to his old self again.  I didn't think much about it, just thought he probably had a belly ache.  A week or so later, he did the same thing - was feeling sick for a day or two and then was better and back to his old self again.  The third time it happened, I was really concerned.

We took Clifford to the vet on September 26.  He weighed 16.1 pounds.  I wasn't much concerned with his weight.  At his heaviest he was 20 pounds and fluctuated between that and 18 pounds.  I knew he hadn't eaten in a few days so I figured that was why he had lost weight.  The vet said that he probably had  GI infection and gave us an antibiotic to give him.

On September 30, the vet did a follow up call and he was doing much better.  He was eating, drinking and acting like his old self again.

On October 12, we took all of our animals to the vet for their annuals and nail trimmings for the dogs.  Clifford had been sick again.  I've noticed grass in his throw up, and he was not going to the bathroom.  When they weighed him, his weight was 14 lbs 14 oz.  I couldn't believe it.  How in the world is my 20 pound cat down to 14 pounds??  He also had a temp of 104.  He was given an antibiotic injection and we were told to bring him back on Monday to drop off for further evaluation.

On Monday, October 14, Shawn dropped him off at the vet for the day for the vet to perform further blood work and further evaluation.  They took x-rays.  His temp was down to 101.4. His kidney was fine, his liver was fine. He had a high white blood cell count.  He has a lot of fatty tissue around his liver and the vet put him on a special dry cat food for 6 months for weight control. He was also put on a couple different medicines.  A liquid that we had to give him once a day every other day for 5 days and a pill that we had to give two times a day for 10 days.

I called the vet again on Wednesday, October 16 cause Clifford wasn't eating anything and wondered about giving him wet food.  They gave me 5 cans of AD wet food that I had to mix with water and force feed Clifford with a syringe.  I was supposed to feed him a can and half a day.  I was lucky to get him to eat a half can a day.  Now I wonder if I should of forced more down him and then he'd still be with me :(

We left for vacation on Sunday, October 20.  Mom stayed at our house to take care of our fur babies while we were gone.  She did a great job giving Clifford his medicines and feeding him.  She even said that at the end of the week, Clifford was eating on his own!  We were supposed to bring Clifford in for a follow up appointment the week we were gone so we did it when we got back.

Shawn made the appointment for Thursday, October 31.  Clifford was eating some on his own.  I bought him some canned food in gravy and he ate that, or should I say he licked the juice off the food.  He vomited after eating and his stool was really chocolaty pudding looking.  His weight was down to 12.6 pounds.  I was in shock at his weight, but I also knew that he wasn't eating, so I figured that's why he was losing weight.  The doctors notes said parasites, infection, neoplasia, anemia, internal loss, external loss, aplasia.  Clifford was given another type of antibiotic and some special sprinkle medicine to put on his food for 3 days in a row.  I was also suppose to take in a stool sample.  He pooped a little bit that night and I collected it but it wasn't enough so I waited for another one....and 5 days later there still wasn't one :(  Throughout the week, Clifford wasn't eating or drinking anything and wasn't going go to the bathroom.

By Monday evening, Clifford would come in the kitchen like he was hungry, but would only just sniff his wet food and go lay back down.  He wasn't eating, or drinking, and hadn't used the litter box for a poop since Thursday evening.  He also peed in three different spots of the house.  Ugh!  And he was laying upstairs in weird spots and laying down like he really didn't feel good, not the "no paws kitty" lay down.  It was absolutely breaking my heart.  I decided to try and force feed him myself.  I managed to get a couple vials of food down him, but then he went into the bathroom to lay down. I put a towel down for him to lay on and he immediately threw up all the food I had just given him.  My heart was breaking!  I told Shawn I was calling the vet the next morning and that I was afraid we were probably gonna have to make a serious decision about Clifford.

Tuesday morning, November 5, I texted the girls at work and told them I would be late cause I needed to call the vet.  I got ahold of the vet and talked to him and told him what was going on.  I was an emotional wreck.  He was very sympathetic and told me to bring Clifford in and he would observe him.  I called the girls at work and told them that I wasn't coming into work that day and that we would probably have to put our cat down.  I went upstairs and got Shawn and had him come to the vet with me.  He got ready quickly and by 9:00 a.m. we were at Dr. Chappin's office.  Dr. Chappin examined him and said he was very dehydrated, anemic, anorexic, had a low heart rate, and possibly had a tumor in his abdomen.  He wanted to put him on IV fluids and referred us to Dr. Sarah Burns at East Pines Animal Hospital.  He said she could do an ultrasound on Clifford and would be able to see things better with an u/s than they can with x-rays.  And that if Clifford would need surgery to remove the tumor depending on its location, she would be the one to do it.  She was in surgery when he called and he was waiting for a call back.  In the mean time, they kept Clifford hooked up to the IV and sent us home and when they heard from Dr. Burns they would call us.  Around 11:00 I got a call that Dr. Burns would see Clifford and that she wasn't taking a lunch that day and would be there all day for us. He also said the exam to see her was $90 and the surgery would be between $2,000 to $3,000.  I called Dr. Burns office to confirm we were on our way.  We picked Clifford up at Dr. Chappin's office and headed to Boonville to see Dr. Burns.

Once we got to Dr. Burns office, we were registered and they took Clifford back to see the doctor and Shawn and I went to a consult room.  Dr. Burns was an amazing sweet lady who had a ton of compassion for Clifford and for us in this difficult situation.  She confirmed everything that Dr. Chappin had said, and said that Clifford did in fact have a tumor and that because of his condition already that even if she did the surgery, he wouldn't make it out of the anesthesia.  I knew what we had to do, but definitely didn't want to do it.  She confirmed with us that if it was her cat, she would put him down.  It would be easier on Clifford and easier on us than to sit at home with him and watch him struggle each day.  My heart was absolutely broken.  I don't think I had ever been as emotional as I was that moment.

She explained the process of how it would all take place and we discussed whether we wanted to be in the room when it happened or not.  I definitely did, because I knew if I wasn't there, that I would surely have regrets later on.  Shawn was uncertain.  He wanted to be there, but he didn't know if he could handle it.  He ended up staying.  We also discussed what we would do with his remains.  I just assumed we would bring him home and bury him in the yard under the cherry tree, or out in the back yard by the fence in one of his favorite spots to lay.  Shawn didn't want to do that, he wanted to cremate him.  I was absolutely fine with that.  Dr. Burns explained the different types of cremations and the costs.  We choose the private cremation where they only cremate Clifford and we will get his remains back.  They come back in a really nice velvet bag inside a beautiful wooden box and a certificate.  Dr. Burns also made a clay indention of Clifford's paws for us to bring home and bake as a keepsake.  The crematory would pick up Clifford the next day and then we will pick up his remains the following Wednesday.

We left her office with Clifford's crate, his blanket, and his collar, and two broken hearts!  I didn't go to work that Tuesday, I went home and cried and cried.  Wednesday I went to work and had been thinking about Clifford all morning and I remembered how he was meowing so loud when we got to Dr. Burns office.  I hadn't heard him meow in a long time and I kept hearing those meows in my mind.  I started wondering if he meowing cause he was hurting, or he was afraid and knew what was happening, or if he was meowing to tell me it was alright to let him go.  By 10:00 a.m., I was sobbing uncontrollably and had to leave work.   I called Shawn when I got in the car to leave to tell him I was going home.  Once I got home, everywhere I looked I saw reminders of Clifford.  His blanket that he slept on in the bathroom.  The shower curtain pulled back so he could hop in the tub to lay if he wanted too.  His medicines and canned cat food on the counter.  The blanket in the guest room that we wrapped him up in to give him his medicines.  The blanket on the floor in Gavin's room that I wrapped him up in to force feed him his last meal.  The fuzzy house shoes I had laying up in his room by his food dish hoping he would lay on them and smell the food and want to eat.  His picture on the background of my phone and tablet.  I wonder if Molly misses her brother.  She was always home with him during the day while we were at work, now she's by herself alone in this big old house :(

I've gotten better over the last couple days and don't cry as much, but think of him often and talk of him often.  I know the talking helps.  We pick up Clifford's remains next Wednesday.  I sure I'll be an emotional wreck and start all over again!

Who knew that that cute little fuzzy puffball orange kitty I got almost 13 years ago would make such a huge impact on me!

Below are some pictures of Clifford, more recent pics than older pics.  I'm having my blog designer design a page for my blog for Clifford an I have a bunch of older pictures posted there.  I'm also going to post this blog there too.

This is the last picture that will ever be taken of Clifford.  Shawn took it as we were saying our goodbyes and just moments before he passed :(  Mommy misses you so much Clifford!  My heart is breaking for what has happened!

This picture was taken when we first got to East Pines.  We had Clifford at Dr. Chappin's office in Newburgh earlier that morning and they started an IV cath and were giving him fluids.  They stopped them when we took him to Dr. Burns office in Boonville and he had a little camo bandage on his leg to cover the port site :(

Earlier in the morning at Dr. Chappin's office.  Does this look like a sick kitty to you?  Me either, which is why I think I'm having such a difficult time with our decision.  When you look at him, he looks fine and looks like my Clifford.  But he wasn't eating, wasn't drinking, and wasn't going to the bathroom.  He'd lost a lot of fat muscle which, as Dr. Burns explained, is the reason why I felt his bones and spine when I petted him.  He was having a hard time standing up and walking straight.

The day before we put him to sleep.  He was laying no-paws-kitty and wanting to go outside so bad.  I wouldn't let him because the door under the house was open and I didn't want him to get under there and not come out.  Now I wonder if I would of let him have some fresh air if it would of helped him.  He loved darting out that back door and rolling around on the concrete and laying out in the yard.  I wish I would of went outside and put the door up under the house and let him out in the yard.  I'm sorry I was so lazy Clifford and didn't let you out one last time.

I took this picture of Clifford Monday afternoon when I was home sick from work. He's my handsome little Clifford.  I just loved when he would lay no-paws-kitty style :)

He spent the last couple days laying on this blankie in the bathroom downstairs.

He's finally eating....but it only last for a little bit :(

Isn't it funny how his leg goes out when he sits?  A couple years ago when we were on vacation, he got out and got in a cat fight with something.  During the healing process, I accidentally stepped on it and it's been like this every since.  I told the vet about it and he checked it out and said it wasn't broken, and Clifford didn't have a problem walking or running on it.

He's probably waiting on me to open the door to let the dogs in so he can dart out!

He spent alot of time laying in the bathroom and in the bathtub when he didn't feel good.

All of the below pictures were taken before he got sick!

Gavin loved catfishin with Clifford.  Gavin just loved Clifford!  Anytime Gavin was over, he was always loving on Clifford and looking for him.  And Gavin just loved it when Clifford and Molly would come in his room at night and sleep in there.  Gavin would say "those silly kitties!"

Clifford loved laying on shoes on the floor.  It didn't matter what kind of shoe it was, if it was on the floor, he would lay on them.  These are an older pair of house shoes I had.  I put one of them up by his food and water, hoping he would lay on it and at least sniff the food and make him eat.  It didn't work :(

Most people don't let animals on their table.  I usually didn't either.  But half the time it was covered with junk and we never eat at the table so I didn't mind when he would lay up there!

I guess he wanted to be fluffed? LOL!

Clifford's favorite spot.....to be outside rolling around on the concrete and eating grass.

Ok, maybe my shoes are his favorite spot!

But the vet's office floor is definitely not a favorite spot!

What can I say....he's a table kitty!

Mommy sure misses your fatty cheeks Bubs!
