I had a few minutes before we left for church tonight and before it got dark outside, so the dog and I went out to take a few pictures so I could play with my new lens. It seems I found the reason his nose is brown when he comes in...

Good boy, Hershey Bell

Tonight was our first of eight puppy training classes. They are once a week, on Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m., for the next eight weeks at Petsmart. Our trainer is LaShae and she's great. There was four other dogs in our class...Lucy, Charley, Lilly, and Mitchell. I don't really remember all of the dog types, but I remember that Charley is a lab/boxer mix and is too cute. And I remember that Mitchell is a chocolate pit bull who wants to eat my dog in one gulp Tonight we learned some basic techniques and just some general information about having a new puppy. We got a binder with some homework in it that we have to practice this week, along with a clicker to train with if we prefer.

After class, we went to Culver's to get dinner and Hershey Bell was a HIT with the ladies working the drive-thru. He even got a french fry, but shhh, don't tell his daddy.

T.G.I.F.

Whew...I'm so glad it's Friday. I am completely exhausted! Work has been busy, family life has been crazy, and I've just been lazy all around. I plan on going home tonight and just relaxing on the couch. Tomorrow I have to work from 8-1, then I'm going home to get the puppy, going to Heather's for a bit, and then tomorrow evening the puppy has his first day of school. Hee!! He will be attending puppy education classes at Petsmart. They start at 7:00 p.m. each Saturday for the next 8 weeks. Hopefully that dog will learn something. He's wearing me out. I know he's a puppy, but come on already. If I'm yelling at you, that doesn't mean run around the table and make me chase you while you are shredding up paper. It means STOP!

I ordered a new lens for my camera on Monday and got it Wednesday. So this weekend, provided that the weather is halfway decent, I'll probably try to find some subjects to take some pictures of.

Amaryllis Plants - part 2

I took pictures again on Tuesday of our plants. They are posted in order of growth. As you will notice, some are really growing and others are not.

Amaryllis Plants

A few years ago at work, one of our VP's was sent an amaryllis plant by a client. I had never heard of this type of plant before and was amazed by it. The plant grew so fast, you could literally watch it grow before your eyes. I bought one for myself after that and had fun with it watching it grow. So this year for Christmas, I thought it would be fun to get the girls at work an amaryllis plant and we could all watch them grow and see whose would grow faster, to see whose wouldn't grow, etc. I gave them to the girls on the Monday before Christmas. The directions say that once the plant is planted, it would take a few weeks for growth. Tiff and I planted ours that afternoon, Laura, Pam and Lisak planted theirs on Tuesday, and Cara didn't plant hers until Friday...4 whole days later than the rest of us. On Tuesday at work, I took a picture of the progress of the plants.

And last, but not least....Cara's plant. Can you believe how much it has grown?????? May I draw your attention to the black marker line on it. We marked it on Monday and by Tuesday, it had already grown that much overnight!

I think the reason for Cara's plant growth is due to the fact that she doesn't sit in the same area as the rest of us do. We are all trapped in a tiny little room with no natural sunlight and that's colder than Antartica. Cara sits out in the main part of the office and has lots of natural sunlight shining on her plant.
