2013 Luce Fall Festival

Saturday evening was our annual trip to the Luce Elementary School Fall Festival.  Things were a bit different this year....as far as the set up of the festival and who all didn't get to go, but we still had a great time, and came home with some great prizes again!

  Thanks to my friend Tina for getting me my tickets early!  I wasn't able to be there as soon as they started so she graciously volunteered to get me mine and I paid her back.  I'm glad she sent Renee to get me all the winning tickets!  Hee!  Please don't be mad at me Tina!

Luce Fall Fest 2012

Last Saturday was the annual Luce Fall Festival and once again we all made our presence known.  Shawn and I went, along with mom and our friend Alice, Uncle Popeye, and then Beth, Tommy, Gavin and Billy.  Some of our friends also showed up:  The Lester's, Tina and Renee, Heather and Bowen, and then Kristi was there, along with alot of other people...some I know, some I don't. 

The highlight of the evening, other than seeing my sweet nephew Gavin, is the door prize tickets.  The tickets are 25 cents each and starting at 4:15 until 8:00, they do a drawing every 15 minutes.  I think they draw 10 tickets each time and then write the numbers on the boards on the walls.  Shawn and I buy $40 worth of tickets and man we cleaned up this year!  Between the two of us, we won:

2 smoke detectors

 a round of golf with cart from the Rustic

Chick-fil-A coupons

2 passes to the Big Splash Adventure Indoor Waterpark

 a wing party with 50 free wings from Buffalo Wild Wings

 $20 gift certificate from Best One Tire

This picture cracks me up cause all Uncle Shawn wanted to do was take a picture with Gavin, and Gavin (with his chocolate mustache) wasn't having any part of it!  LOL!

This guy is Daniel Epperson. He provided the entertainment throughout the evening.  I'm really not sure who he is other than a local guy from Rockport with a great voice.  Later I learned he is on his way to Nashville.  Kind of wish I would of taken some better pictures of him and some close ups.  He could be famous some day!

Winning at the Luce Fall Fest

We went to the Luce Fall Fest again this year and we cleaned up with better prizes.  LOL!!  Usually we win stuff, but it's t-shirts that are usually too small, coupons for kids' meals, etc.  This year I bought $10 in tickets and won a $25 gift certificate to Zeidler Florists, a Scentsy nightlight/warmer and pack of Pumpkin Marshmellow scent bars to go with it, a Better Homes and Garden magazine, and something else that I can't think of now (see this is why blogging is good, it helps you to remember events; well that is if you blog about them when they happen!).  The Scentsy nightlight/warmer is my FAVE!  I'm in love with that stuff now and will probably be purchasing these for people for gifts.  Shawn bought $15 in tickets and won a bunch of stuff as well.  He got a $10 gift certificate to Acapulco Mexican, a pair of grippers for your shoes for the snow and ice, some Discovery Toys, a spinning pen, a gift certificate for a feather extension, a UK backpack with goodies, and a few other things.

Gavin did the cake walk a few times; but didn't win any cakes.  Beth did the cake walk right before we got there and won a jumbo chocolate chip cookie.

The Lucy (Luce) Fall Fest

This Saturday was the fall fest at my old elementary school, Luce Elementary School. We've been going to it every since I was in grade school.  They have food, games, prizes, entertainment, and lots of fellowship.  It's fun to buy the door prizes tickets and win fun prizes, and fun hanging out with old friends just having a good time.  We won lots of prizes in the door prize ticket drawings - 7 tshirts (all too little though :O), a computer repair kit, and lots of gift certificates for pizza, Lic's ice cream, McDonald's, Long John Silvers, and one other (I just can't remember though).
