Friends & Family Cruise-cation 2019: The Sequel - Cozumel, Mexico

Our first stop was in Cozumel, Mexico.  I joined the Hall's for an excursion to Isla Pasion for the afternoon and Shawn and Wally went golfing.  The Hall's actually won their excursion there from some trivia game the night before, and since Shawn was golfing and I really didn't know what I was doing, I invited myself along.  We all had a really good time!

We had about a 45 minute ride in a motorized catamaran from the port till we got to Isla Pasion.  Enjoyed the breeze and the views and the amazing colors of the water!  Once we arrived, we walked down a dock and had a long trek in the sand.  It was rough on this old fat girl.  Their sand is not Jamaica sand, it's more like Florida sand. Ugh!  The island was nice and reminded me so much of Jamaica.  The food was really good too!

The Hall's

Our waiter Jose took good care of us.

Thankfully, I was invited to ride in the truck back to the boat dock along with some other people who were having a tough time with that sand.

There was three ships in port in Cozumel.

While we were out enjoying our private island, Shawn and Wally had went to play golf at the Cozumel Country Club.  They met a few new friends along the way as well!

Once back at port, I actually ran into Shawn in one of the stores, so we stopped at Fat Tuesday's and had a jumbo virgin Miami vice before making our way back to the ship!

Big pimpin' sportin' his new hat that he got in Cozumel.

Friends & Family Cruise-cation 2019: The Sequel - Arrival Day & Day at Sea

I'm blogging.  Can you believe it?  It's been almost a year since I've updated my blog.  Lazy I guess, well and my laptop bit the dust and that's what I would normally blog on.  Oh Santa....mommy needs a new laptop!

Back in July, we joined another big group of friends for the 2019 Friends & Family Cruise-cation: the Sequel for a 7-night cruise on the Carnival Breeze cruise ship.  The Breeze is Carnival's second largest ship holding around 4,000 passengers at max capacity and another 1,400 plus crew members, and is about a 1/4 mile long.  It was a really, really big ship!  We left out of Port Canaveral, Florida and had one day at sea, made stops in Cozumel, Belize, Honduras, and Costa Maya, and then had another day at sea coming back.

Shawn and I flew to Florida, as did another family, but everyone else made the 12+ hour drive there.  We are not drivers at all, and jet-setting is the way to travel.  We left Friday morning and drove to Louisville, Kentucky and had a direct flight to Orlando, Florida. Shawn and I both love flying and I love having the window seat and watching the land and clouds below.  Once we arrived at the airport in Florida, the hotel shuttle picked us up and took us back to the hotel.  There was a Chuy's near by and that's one of our favorite restaurants, so we took the hotel shuttle there for dinner that night.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early to catch the shuttle bus from our hotel to Port Canaveral.  It was about a hour drive.  One stop to let the Micky Mousekeeter's off at the Disney ship and we were at our ship location. Boarding was super fast and easy and within a short amount of time we were on the boat and partaking of the fun!  I love the silliness of the guys below!

Our group of 31 friends and family!  These peeps are so fun to cruise with!

Jamie and Kenzie getting their groove on!

Our first full day on the ship was a day at sea.  We spent time exploring the ship and trying to relax a little.

I played Bingo that afternoon but got the shaft.  I bought the $40 bingo package and it came with 9 cards, a dauber, and some pull tabs.  Little did I know they only played three games!  It was a fun time, but not $40 fun. LOL!!

Some of the guys played in a putt-putt tournament too and Shawn and Wally both got a hole-in-one and received medals for that.  The guys are shown proudly displaying their charms!

For dinner that night, it was Owen's birthday so they brought out a birthday cake and everyone joined in singing Happy Birthday to him!

Being Grounded

Grounded or earthing.  Becoming one with nature.

PCB 2018

This post was started almost a year ago and I never finished.  Here is a highlight of the trip along with pictures (in no particular order).

We had a great time in Florida last week, despite a few mishaps - I jacked my surgery leg up Friday leaving work, so I was pained some by that, it was 300 degrees all week in Florida and HOT, there was Red Tide the first three days there and lots of dead fish and dead fish smell.

We ate at lots of yummy new restaurants, and a few trusty old ones.  We had Pink Pelican ice cream three nights, Thomas' Donuts twice, and a pineapple fritter as big as my head from Dan-D's donuts.

We went on the Sea Screamer twice, Shawn went deep sea fishing once, and played golf twice.  We rented a pretty pink golf cart from Outlaw Rentals for the day and had the most fun!  We drove that cart all over the place, played loud music from it, and honked at just about everyone we saw!

We had dinner with Misty in Destin, I hung out at the pool with the Chapman's at the Shores of Panama, and we went on the SeaScreamer and had dinner at the Wharf with Amy and Eugene.  It was fun having friends vacation the same week as us!  HA!

Off of our condo balcony, I only saw one dolphin, one sting ray and one shark the whole week!  I was disappointed to say the least!  Watching the marine life from the condo balcony is one of my favorite things to do!

We used the pool a lot more than a person vacationing at the beach should!

We met a new friend Sata and her cute furbaby girls - Zoe and Chloe, and gave them their first golf cart ride :)

I saw a sea turtle nest and found some sand dollars on a lone, deserted beach by myself.  Shew, that was a workout too!  LOL!

I bought a new floppy sun hat and took way too many selfies with it!

Until next time PCB....
