Snow Cream = Deliciousness

I am so done with winter and snow, and cold dreary weather.  It's making me miserable and grouchy, and I'm cold all the time.  However I will admit that I was happy we had snow again yesterday so I could make some snow cream.  I haven't gotten a chance to make it yet this year.

I got a recipe from a friend last year and every since I made it, I've been in love with it!  It tastes just like homemade ice cream in a fraction of the time and a fraction of the cost!

All you need is 8 cups of snow, a can of sweetened condensed milk, and a splash of vanilla.  Stir everything together and it's done!  I like to add crushed pineapple to my bowl of ice cream, and I've also added chocolate syrup and thawed frozen strawberries too.  It's all yummy!!

Is it Fall or Winter?

Our first snow this year ... was in November!  What?  I still have pumpkins and mums out!  It was crazy!  I don't think I've ever had snow on my pumpkins that I can recall.

While I'm not a fan of driving to work in the snow, I definitely loved looking at it.  Especially with all of the beautiful fall color underneath it!  Now I just wish the next snow would be on the weekend so that I can venture out in it and take more pictures, and pick up my nephew and go sledding!

Super Busy Weekend

The weekend officially started Friday at 5.  I kicked off the weekend with a massage and it was so relaxing!  Then that was followed up with a trip to Walmart in the rain :(  While waiting for Shawn to get off work, I was tooling around Walmart  trying to find Zoe a present.  I sent her the picture below to ask her if she wanted the hat ...

When Shawn got off work, we had dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant Jalisco's.  Mr. Werewolf is always thrilled when I pull my phone out to take his picture!  LOL!

Saturday morning started off bright and early with a trip to Louisville, Kentucky.  We had to go to the Apple Store to get Shawn's phone replaced.  We did a little shopping at the mall while we were there; I scored some great deals on some clothes for Gavin.

After shopping, we headed to the other mall to have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.  Anytime we are in the area, that's where I want to eat at.  We timed it perfectly cause we only had a 10 minute wait for a table.  While waiting, we checked out the Cheesecake case.  Of course though, I already knew which piece I was choosing.

We both had yummy pasta dishes and then yummy cheesecake.  We both got our own piece and then got a piece to bring home and share.  Shawn ate all of his there, and I actually brought the other two pieces home, along with almost all of my meal.  I was stuffed from all the yummy bread I consumed before they brought our meal.

Saturday night after we got home from Louisville, Shawn had invited people over for a free UFC fight that was on TV.  We had put a Boston butt in the crock pot before we left, so I prepped that for supper and served BBQ sandwiches, baked beans, macaroni salad.  Steve brought the yummy potato logs from the grocery store, and Bowen brought little piggies in a blanket.  While the guys were watching the fight, Heather and I went to the movies.  We decided that that's going to be our new thing - when the guys have fight night, we are going to have girls movie night!  We went and saw the new movie out called Labor Day.  It was a really good movie!

Sunday we had church and then went to lunch at Charlie's Mongolian BBQ.  That place is so yummy!  And I seriously need to learn how to build and stack my plate the way everyone else does.  There is some serious plate builders in there!  LOL!

After that, Shawn dropped me off at Snickerdoodle Kid's Art to paint a shamrock for the front door.  I met Kristi and her friend there, and then Kristi drove me out to Heather's where Shawn was at watching the Super Bowl.

It actually started snowing when we were driving through Newburgh on our way to Heather's and by the time Shawn and I left their house, there was a wintery mess outside.  We made it home safe, but slipped and slide around a couple times.

Winter Wonderland 2013

While I was off work for my surgery, we had our first big snow of the year around the first week of December.  And it accumulated within just a few short hours!  I don't remember how much we got, but it was alot!  And I was bummed that I couldn't go out and play in it or go sledding with friends!

I took this picture when I first got up and saw the snow, and with in a few hours, the entire ground was covered deeply as you can tell in the second picture.

The front yard picture I took after we had gotten a good bit of snow (notice the sidewalk lights), and by the end of the night, they were almost covered (as you can see in the second picture).

And my animals aren't a fan of the snow either.  My guess is because they are low-riders!  LOL!  Thank goodness for this little patch of grass that ran the whole length of the house so they could do their business outside instead of inside on my floors!

When Shawn did come home, I had him go out and shovel the ramp and a little area on the patio so the dogs could finally go out.  I love the look of disgust on his face because I am taking his picture and he knows it will show up on Facebook.  Hee :)

Shawn had called to tell me he was on his way home for the day so me and the dogs were on the lookout for him.  I captured a few pics of him driving in the snow up the driveway....

And then he got stuck just inches before getting the car in the garage....

...and had to get out and shovel his way in.

I had to end up getting in the car and driving it in the garage while he pushed it.  He was all too thrilled about this, and the fact that I was taking pictures the entire time!

Winter Jam 2013

Last night was the Winter Jam 2013 concert!  The weather last night was definitely "winter" weather for this concert!  It was freezing cold, windy, and snowing!  And it was a long four block walk to the Ford Center from my work and an even longer four block walk back to the parking garage in the snow and ice-covered sidewalks!  And the 40-minute wait to get inside the Ford Center was almost unbearable too!  Me, Shawn, Angie, Allesha and Alex endured the wind, cold, and snow to spend four and a half hours giving God all the praise!

Angie, Allesha and Alex

There was 10,000+ people packed inside the Ford Center to give all the praise and glory to God!!

A few people from church went, however we didn't go as a group, but we did run into some of them there!  Here is Shawn and Jaron!

And now for the bands...

Capital Kings - don't think I have ever heard of them :/

OBB - never heard of them either :/

Jason Castro - He was a 4th place finalist on the seventh season of American Idol!

Newsong

Royal Taylor - never heard of them, but Alex sure liked them!

Sidewalk Prophets

Red - Shawn's favorite band.  Not so sure of them myself; definitely different!  LOL!

My two faves!  Jamie-Grace and TobyMac!  TobyMac discovered Jamie-Grace from a YouTube video.  She is an AMAZING singer!!  And she was actually sitting in the audience just a few seats from us when she started her performance.  Not sure how no one noticed her!

Matthew West

TOBYMAC!!  This was our third time seeing TobyMac in concert and we were not disappointed!  He puts on an amazing performance!

Enduring the cold on our long walk back to the car!  Brr!!!
