Holiday World....let's try this again!

If you follow my blog at all, chances are that you have read my last blog post about Holiday World here.  I just re-read it and can't do anything but shake my head at it!

Last Saturday we decided to give Holiday World another try!  Me, Beth, and Gavin were going along with Heather, Bowen, and Zoe.  I drove to Heather's and then we are rode in the truck to get Beth and Gavin.   We tried to get Tootie to ride in the very back of the truck for old times sake, but she wasn't doing it! LOL!  We got to Holiday World shortly after they opened.  The weather was perfect!  The sky was blue, it was sunny, and breezy, and no chance of rain in sight!  Thank you Lord!

We had a great time riding rides and visiting with friends!  The park was all decorated for Halloween and alot of the rides had their names changed to match the theme.  For example, the Sparkler swings were called the Spookler swings :)

Gavin wasn't lucky enough to get a rocket ship with a gun.  They had these rocket ships when Beth and I were his age.  In all the years this park has been open, you would think they would have made enough money to replace the guns, or at least install guns on the rockets that are missing them :(

Normally I'm not a fan of the bumper cars and never ride them.  Probably because the line it too long.  However Gavin wanted to ride them and Zoe wasn't old enough to take him by herself.  So I took Gavin, and then Heather and Zoe rode in a car.  I've got to tell you that these bumper cars were probably my fave ride at Holiday World.  We rode them a couple times and Gavin and were just cracking up laughing on them!

I seriously thought I was going to pee my pants!  LOL!!

Miss Kitty's tea cups are a new ride this year.  Forewarning...one time on the ride is fun, two times on the ride is sickly!  I felt ill the rest of the day! 

I can't even begin to believe that my little man was tall enough to ride this ride by himself.  He loved it!  When you ask him what his fave ride was, he said "the birds I rode by myself!"

The Santa Gig

Shawn played Santa again this year for Vanessa's daycare.  I took off work today to go with him (it was also Shawn's birthday so I wanted to spend the day with him :))

Santa's Candy Castle

On Saturday after me, Beth and Gavin had eaten lunch at Angelo's, we drove around for a little bit.  It was such a nice day that I didn't want to go back to their house and sit inside, so I suggested a drive up to Santa Claus, Indiana to look around.  We picked up Nan to go with us and off we went.  We were only going to go to the Christmas Store, but I remembered they had a Santa's Candy Castle near there and none of us had ever been so we decided to go.  Wasn't sure where it was, but knew it was near Holiday World.  We turned on a road and stumbled upon it quickly.  There wasn't as much candy in the store as I thought there would be, but it was definitely a fun little store to visit.  They had lots of candy, ornaments, gifts, books and more.  They had these tables of computers set up in the middle of the room where you could chat with an elf about your behavior throughout the year and if you were good you could print out a certificate.  It was kind of pricey for this service so Gavin just pretended to type a letter to Santa.

On our way out of the store, the worker asked Gavin if he wanted to make some snow.  I don't think Gavin was sure about it at first, but agreed to it.  What a neat thing!  I didn't catch this man's name, but he was super nice and friendly with Gavin and helped him make the best snow!

Here he is explaining to Gavin how to make snow...

You add one teaspoon of secret powder to an empty cup...

And because Gavin is so cute, you add a second teaspoon of secret powder...

Then you pour a half cup of water in the measuring cup...

Then you count to 3 and pour the water into the secret powder...

And wallah.....S*N*O*W!!!

The snow was so white, cool feeling, and soft and fluffy!

After visiting Santa's Candy Castle, we headed to the Christmas store and looked around all of their fun ornaments and then got some of their yummy cookies and headed home.  The only thing that would of made the day better was if I would of brought my big camera with me.  Instead all I had to use was my little point and shoot that doesn't take the best pictures, especially inside pictures.
