Looking forward to the 4-day weekend

I'm thinking we have a busy weekend coming up. Last night I went to the grocery store and stocked up on groceries for the next couple of weeks. I absolutely loathe going to the grocery store daily, so when I go, I go. And I usually buy multiples of everything we need. I gave out of Walmart last night with two carts and $212 poorer (is that even a word?). I think I even wore Tootie out. She'll probably never go with me again.

Saturday evening we are going to a cookout at some friends' house, so today I'll be getting some things ready for that. I'm making my yummy potato salad and some deviled eggs. I have stuff to make a cake, so I might do that as well. I know Tootie got a watermelon, so that will be plenty enough to dessert.

Sunday we have church in the morning and then we'll go out to lunch. We normally go to church in the evenings as well, but I think Shawn's friend Pedro and his wife Wendy are coming into town from Nashville, so we are going out to dinner with them instead.

Who knows what we are doing on Monday. I've got a list of things that need to be done around the house, so hopefully we can get some of that stuff done. The yard needs to have some more treatments done on it, so either Shawn or I will be out with the cart seeding it. The house needs to be pressure washed with the pressure washer that we had to have. The garage needs a good cleaning out and reorganized. The inside of the house needs to be straightened up. Laundry needs to be done. We need to go to the pet store and get some things for the puppy. We need to get some mulch and put down in the front of the house. I'm sure I could go on and on.

Tuesday I have another doctor appointment, but it isn't until 4. I'll probably just lay around the house all day resting up from the previous day's activities. My appointment is with Dr. Gentry. It's just a one month follow up to my three-week follow up appointment. I think he's going to give Shawn and I the ok to start trying to get pregnant again and he'll release me to start going back to Curves for my workouts.

Then Wednesday, it's back to work. BLAH!!

I got some new batteries for the camera, so I'm sure I'll be taking lots of pictures this weekend and posting them for your viewing pleasure. Happy Labor Day to all!

What a busy day

Today has been extremely busy for us today. We've been on the go ALL day. We left the house at 9:00 a.m. for Sunday school and church.

At 1:00 p.m., we left church to go to Shawn's work party at the Bauer House out in Darmstadt. Got there about 1:30 p.m. and ate lunch. There was fried chicken, ham w/pineapple, mashed potatoes w/gravy, green beans, cole slaw, and bread. They also had all kinds of snacks and ice creams and unlimited soft drinks. After lunch we went outside to play the free bingo. Shawn and I both bingo'd once. Shawn got a $10 gift certificate for McDonalds, I got a $10 gift certificate to Sonic. Then the very last game was a cover all game and I won. WOOHOO!!!!! I won 6 tickets to Holiday World and $10 gift certificates to Subway, Sonic, and Stephen Libs Candies. All in all, we cleaned house.

After the picnic, we went to the hospital to visit Lil, a friend from church. She is having surgery tomorrow to repair her heart. It will be a very long surgery, 12 hours to be exact, and she only has a 20% chance of making it through the surgery. The doctor told her that the only way she is going to survive is to fight. We are praying and beliving in God to help her. She's a great lady!!!

After leaving the hospital, we went to Rockport to my cousin Chrystal's. They were having a birthday party for her son, our Godson. He's 3, and a ham!

Happy Birthday!

After we left Chrystal's, we drove out to Heather and Bowen's. Bowen's parents were over with all of the new puppies, so we had to go see Hershey. I can't believe how big the dogs are getting. In a few weeks, we'll be bringing Hershey home with us. And of course, Zoe had to have her picture taken with some of the dogs.

Meet Max...

And Skotsky... And Layla...
And last but not least, here's Hershey and Shawn :)

I think we are in for a surprise, because Hershey is supposed to be chocolate, but I don't think he is anymore. In some light he does look chocolate, and in other light he doesn't. I wanted a chocolate weiner dog from the beginning, but I have fallen in love with this little guy, so it doesn't matter to me what color he is.

More UL Words

I've been pretty productive today. I cleaned the kitchen completely, all except for mopping. I hate mopping the wood floors, so I never do it. I also cleaned the living room, did two loads of laundry, scooped the cat poopie, highlighted my hair, hung some more of my UL words, and layed on the couch playing on the computer and watching tv.

I hung the words in the guest bedroom. Here is the before:

And here is the after:

I didn't want to just put the words on the wall, so I bought an old gold lamey picture frame at a second-hand store for $5 and spray painted it white.

More Randomness

I went to the doctor today. Yep, it's another sinus infection. I guess I should be happy. It's been quite some time since my last one. Shawn started out sick and spread the germs to me. I figured that's what I had, so I made an appointment today with Dr. Marienau. I didn't want to get worse over the weekend and wind up at the Mec center, so I went ahead and went to my family doctor. Dr. M. is a GREAT doctor! I got a prescription for a Z-pac and hopefully in a couple of days I'll be feeling better.

I finally got around to hanging up some more Uppercase Living words I got. I've still got two more things to hang up, but I'm sure it will be awhile before I get that done.

Here's one I got for the kitchen. **Please do not look at the dirty kitchen stove and counter. **Only look at the wall and the words.

And the expressions I got for the bedroom. **Once again, only look at the wall and the words!

My friend Heather's little girl Zoe started kindergarten this year and her school had an Open House last night. Beth and I went with them and a I took a view pictures of Ms. Thang in her classroom at her desk.

After the Open House, we went back to Heather's and read Zoe some of her books for her homework assignment. Bethie needs to get the practice in.

Well Shawn just got home from work, so that's it for tonight. Nothing too exciting!

Randomness

I haven't blogged in a while. Why? Not sure. Just been lazy I guess. It was my first full week back to work after being off for four weeks from my surgery. The first couple of days were rough. I hated it. But now I am getting back into the swing of things, so it isn't too bad. Looking forward to our next vacation though, which is now in less than two months. We are going to Gatilinburg again. We, well I know I do, love it there.

Last Sunday after church we went to Bowen's parents so Shawn could see Hershey. Here are some random photos I took while we were there.
