Thursday morning we had to get up bright and early to leave for the airport. I'm not really sure how "bright" we were, but it was definitely early! I didn't get to bed until after midnight and the alarm went off at 3:00 a.m so that we could get up, get ready, and finish packing to leave the house at 4:00 a.m to catch our 6:00 a.m. flight. Naturally we left late so we were rushing around and arguing the whole way to the airport. We got there in plenty of time, but it still aggravates me to not be on schedule for flying. Our flight was from Evansville to Detroit and then from Detroit to Ft. Lauderdale. We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale around 1:00 p.m., then spent forever getting our luggage, taking the shuttle to the rental car place, standing in line for the rental car, then trying to find the rental car, and then trying to find our way out of the airport to get to the resort. Thank goodness for GPS. I can't imagine trying to travel anymore without it! Once we arrived at the resort, we checked in and got all of our luggage to the room, looked around a bit to find something small to eat, then it was time to get ready for the WOW! awards dinner. I'll blog about the resort and the awards dinner in a separate post, along with the rest of our trip.
