Just a few random photos of Gavin that I have taken since he's been home from the hospital. I'm going to be babysitting him on Saturday and have lots of poses and props in mind for some pictures.

Poor Hersey Bell
When we got Hershey Bell neutered last month, we also had his dew claws removed. I noticed earlier this week that one of his incisions wasn't healing proper and looked raw. I called the vet and they wanted to see him. Shawn took him in that day and I asked him to call me when he was home. He called me and said "it isn't good" and then proceeded to laugh out loud. He could barely talk. Once I finally got it out of him, he said that Hershey's incision is infected and the vet gave him an antibiotic to take for the next 10 days and also wants him to wear the dreaded cone for the next week to keep him from biting at the incision and to give it a chance to heal. The cone is what Shawn was laughing at. I know it's not funny, but he does look funny running around the yard with the cone on. We've been leaving him outside during the day with the cone on, so when I get home from work, I've been letting him in and taking the cone off. He's been doing good at not biting at his wound, so I'm going to continue to leave it off when we are home. Should he start nipping at the wound, I guess I'll be a bad mom and put the cone back on him.

Welcome Baby Gavin
Yeah...I'm an Aunt. My sister delivered birth to a beautiful baby boy on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 5:55 p.m. Gavin Lee Thomas Burgess weighs 7 pounds 13 1/2 ounces and is 20 inches long. He was welcomed by mommy and daddy - Beth and Tommy, Mimi Kate, Aunt Stacey, Cousin Krista, and friends Brandon and Cami. Later that night Mimi's boyfriend Aaron and some of Beth's friends stopped by. He has a headfull of brownish-blonde curly hair just like his dad and looks like his mom and Aunt Stacey...hee :)
Being in the delivery room was defintely an experience I'll never forget. I think my memory is scared with certain images, but we won't go there. LOL!!

Amaryllis Plants - Week 5
Here are pictures of our amaryllis plants - week 5.
This is Christy's plant ... fka Tiff's plant. Her plant never produced any flowering stalks, only leaves. While I think the leaves are neat, I'm bummed that it probably won't produce any flowers.
Here is Cara's plant. Her first stalk produced some beautiful flowers and after they died, she cut the flowers and the stalk off. Here is the result of her second stalk.
Here is Lisak's plant. Her flower was called "Romance" and it was beautiful.

Here is Pam's plant. Hopefully by the time we get back to work, it will have opened in a full bloom.
Yeah! Laura's plant is finally growing. It took some time, but now it's finally taking off.

Here is my plant. Yeah...it's finally starting to flower. The name of my plant is "Grand Cru" - whatever that means. LOL! I'm hoping tomorrow it's opened up alot more so I can take some pictures of it. I've started keeping a chart of the height of the stalks, and as of Friday, one of them is 20 inches tall and the other was 17 3/4 inches.
