TTC: Unsuccessful SIS

We had an appointment last Tuesday at Dr. Gentry's office to have a saline induced sonogram (SIS) done to check my uterine cavity and to possibly see how much the fibroid has shrunk, but mainly to see if Dr. Gentry could cath me so that he could perform a cath when we try our first artificial insemination (IUI).  Unsuccessful.  All of my female parts on the inside of me are not in their respectful places because of that fibroid.  So Friday I am having another MRI done of my pelvic area so that Dr. Gentry can see how much the fibroid has shrunk since the UFE (aka Surgery from H3LL) I had done back in the fall, to make sure the blood flow has stopped to that fibroid, and to see what all is going on because he thinks I am going to now need another abdominal surgery to actually remove the fibroid.  Looks like that $1,000 deductible is going to be met alot sooner than we even planned!

Happy 4th Birthday Gavin!!!

Happy 4th Birthday Little Man!!  I can't believe you are 4 already!  I know I say this all the time, but you truly have brought such joy in my life at the time when I needed it most!  For so long, I've longed to be a mom, but God must have other plans for me cause he hasn't allowed that to happen yet.  Then your mommy got pregnant and had you.  You've been a blessing to me every since!  From the first moment I laid eyes on you, I've loved you!  I never knew I could have so much love for such a little person!

Shawn and I were able to have Gavin for the weekend before his birthday.  Sunday morning we got up and went to church.  Because it was the day of his birthday party, he was all decked out in his birthday shirt that I had made for him.   While we were waiting on Shawn to finish getting ready for church, we headed outside to take a few pictures.

After church we headed to the only cool place for 4 year old birthday parties....Chuck E. Cheese's!  Mom, Beth, Tommy and Billy met us there.  That place was a madhouse!  Luckily I was able to find us two booth's next to each other and we all squeezed in!  We ate pizza and salad, played games, sang Happy Birthday and ate cake, and played more games!!

Playing air hockey with Aunt Stac...

...and he must of just scored! :)

Even the big kids had fun playing games...

Waiting patiently for everyone to gather around so we can sing Happy Birthday to him...

Such a big boy and so excited to hear us singing Happy Birthday!

Saturday night, we let Gavin open his birthday presents at our house since we weren't doing it at CEC's.  I had bought that little cake that we had at CEC's for Saturday night, but we were so full from having cake two other times that day that we were stuffed so I took it with us to CEC's and it turned out perfect!
We bought Gavin some playdough that we opened a few weeks ago and played with already, a new Christmas shirt, a Super Mario Bros. backpack and lunch box, a Lego's storage box with a big green Lego board (I'm jealous, it's so much bigger than my board!), and a new camera!  The camera doesn't take the best quality pictures, but he enjoys it and it has a few games on it.

He loved the camera so much, I went to wake him up Sunday morning for church and he still had it in his hand from the night before.

Children's Church Valentine Party

Saturday evening I took Gavin to the Children's Church Valentine party.  He had alot of fun!  They ate tacos and chips, played musical chairs and hot potato, enjoyed yummy cupcakes and cake pops, made Valentine crafts and exchanged Valentine's.  I think Gavin's favorite part was playing hot potato!  I don't think I've ever seen that boy laugh so hard and so much in all his life!

We made two Valentine crafts for Gavin's mom.  One I helped him do and the one below he made himself.  He loved playing with the glue.  He squeezed the big glob on and then put these few letters in the glue (even though the letters had sticky on the back!).  Then I heard this sweet little voice say "Mom will love how I did this!"  It was the cutest thing ever!

Happy 10th Birthday Zoe!

Happy 10th Birthday to my littlest BFF, ZoeBell!  Gavin and I joined the Robinson's and some friends to help Zoe celebrate her 10th birthday on Saturday!  We had yummy peanut butter and jelly cupcakes and ice cream cups!  Shawn had lots of girlfriends over and everyone had a great time.

ShawnieWOW and I found this cute pink wiener dog at Walgreens right before Valentine's Day and ShawnieWOW wanted to get it for her for her birthday.

While she was opening her presents, Gavin went and got her puppy off the kitchen table and brought it to her.  In the series of pics, you can see him trying to pack the puppy and pass it to her.

A group photo of Zoe and all of her friends that helped her celebrate her 10th birthday.  And when everyone yelled Cheese...(see caption below)

...it got a little loud for little man!

Happy "Valentime's" Day Shawnie :)

I had thought of a couple things to get Shawnie for Valentine's Day, but one thing I knew he would use one time and then never again and I didn't know much about it to really even know which one to get, and the other thing I knew he would want to pick out cause I think he's already got his eye on one.  So what better gift than a sweet treat!  These are semi-homemade Reese's peanut butter cupcakes with homemade peanut butter icing!  I know, I know...I outdid myself ;)  HA!  I had a similar style cupcake at a work function the other day and it was really good, so I decided to try my hand at it and make Shawnie some.  I scoured the Internet and finally decided on this recipe from Pinterest.  I put a Reese's peanut butter cup in the bottom of 12 muffin cups and then mixed up a devil's food cake mix and put a scoop of that in each muffin cup and baked them according to the directions on the cake mix box.  Then I used the peanut butter icing recipe from the link above.  Oh my....it is good icing!!  Then I topped a couple of them with a chunk of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup!  Did I mention that these are really, really, really good!  I've only made a homemade icing one other time and it was yummy too!  We are also going out to dinner tomorrow night to the Bonefish and to the movies for the rest of our Valentine's gift to each other.

Shawn surprised me with another gift!  I had ordered me an Origami Necklace that I had blogged about here for my gift so I wasn't expecting anything else.  He bought me a new Bible for at church.  It was also engraved with my name on it.  I had been wanting one for a while and actually went to the Christian book store a couple weeks ago and looked at them, but couldn't find the exact one I was looking for.

Shawn's funny!  When he handed me the gift, it was in a big box wrapped in red gift wrap with a fun white, tulle ribbon and there was a Marian's Hallmark Store sticker on it.  I figured the gift inside came from Hallmark Store, so after I opened it and saw it was a Bible, I asked him if they engraved Bibles now.  He said no, he got the gift at the Christian Bookstore, but didn't have time to wrap it and he knew that the Hallmark Store had gift wrapping so he took it in there and asked the ladies if they would wrap it for him.  They did for 75 cents!  LOL!!  Not a bad wrap setup for 75 cents!

Saturday evening at church, the Children's Church is having a Valentine's party so I used half of the cupcakes from Shawn's Valentine present and made some for the party.  I found these cute owl-themed cupcake wrappers and owl toppers at the Dollar General Store last night for a $1.00 and I had some sprinkles from the other day's candy making.
